it dawned on me that forgiving others,
accepting their flaws and holdin on to them was easy;
yet it was so difficult to hold on to one that you love.
it's never a problem when a friend takes you for granted,
but it's a major one when a lover does it.
the course of love can and will never be smooth-sailing,
nothing goes on love alone.
there's much to sacrifice,
much to give.
it can't be a feeling of 'i love you' and ta-dah,
we're in a relationship.
there's a need for committment,
a need for understanding,
for giving and not expecting anythin in return;
for loving and loving with all your heart.
a relationship is not lookin for a companion,
it's about lookin for a soulmate,
someone who knows how you feel and feel it;
someone who you can talk about anything under the sky,
someone who promises to stay and do so with all her heart.
there's just so much more,
but words can never put them all in place.
if a minor setback could cause one to walk on,
what kinda love is this?
i often wonder.
